Carabao (Philippine) Mango Grafted Tree (World's Sweetest Mango)

Carabao (Philippine) Mango Grafted Tree (World's Sweetest Mango)

The Carabao Mango Tree is one of the most prized mango varieties in the world. Native to the Philippines, this tropical evergreen is famous for producing exceptionally sweet, fiberless fruit. It thrives in warm, sunny climates and rewards growers with abundant harvests and lush, green foliage. It is named after the carabao, a native Filipino breed of water buffalo.

This variety was listed as the sweetest in the world by the 1995 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

Growing Tips

  • Plant in a sunny location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.

  • Use well-draining soil; avoid waterlogging, especially during monsoon.

  • Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the top layer of soil to dry between waterings.

  • Apply a balanced fertilizer during the growing season and a potash-rich feed before flowering.

  • Support the young grafted section with a stake to prevent damage from wind.

  • Prune lightly to maintain shape and improve air circulation.

  • Protect new flush and graft union from extreme heat during the first summer.
